Milan, Italy – 7 June 2019 –

The Voyage Team, part of Piksel Group, and a leading provider of digital solutions for the travel industry is proud to announce the launch of the new Milan Airports websites.

SEA is one of The Voyage Team’s top customers that manages the Milan Airports of Malpensa and Linate and has chosen The Voyage Team since 2010. This long-lasting relationship is the result of many successuful projects that The Voyage Team’s technical experts have carefully developed.

Our team of experts developed the new Milan Airports’ websites using the latest version of the highly successful Piksel VCMS: This newly released version incorporates a number of enhancements allowing the editor to create website content by means of a WYSIWYG interface. The latest release of Piksel VCMS also includes a number of SEO (search engine optimisation) improvements, making the job of ensuring favourable search engine placing that much easier.

Unlike the previous versions, the Malpensa and Linate Airports’ websites now combine static and dynamics page elements thereby improving load and response time.

Angelo Di Casoli, Team Leader at The Voyage Team said, “It has been a complex project, that required time and expertise. We have been through similar projects with other customers and we were able to bring our experiences and lessons learnt to successfully launch the website on time and within budget.”

Oracle Weblogic was the basis of the previous existing websites. Now, it has been replaced with a new dynamic Web App; Apache Tomcat. This allows the creation of HTML pages with no elaboration from the application server making the webpages more efficient and reducing the user wait-times.

Other improved SEA website features include the flight tracking webpage. In fact, it is possible to check the flights’ status through both the native system of the website (that sends notification by email) and the Facebook Messenger’s chatbot.

Moreover, a new flights’ research functionality is now available. It consists of a calendar format that shows the daily, weekly or monthly flights’ schedule.

“We are extremely proud of the work of our development and project teams in the creation of the new website and the proud of the very positive feedback regarding outcome” concluded Paolo Pantano, Team Leader at Piksel. “Early testing during development had already indicated a performance improvement and reduced page-load times. Additionally, the overall feel and look of the site is far more intuitive and welcoming to the user. We are very pleased to continue our collaboration with SEA and look forward to being part of their ongoing success in the future.”
